Chasing Storms in Valmeinier, France

Well, I have finally arrived somewhere with free wifi…yeah, I know it’s only been 5 days but it’s felt like a long time; especially as I’ve been wanting to share some of the amazing pictures I’ve been taking. So without further ado (as I now have a lot to get through in a short time), here’s a quick recap of day 1. We travelled for about 15 hours; going from London to a town called Valmeinier in the Southern French Alps via tube, Eurostar, metro, TGV (train) and car. All went really well, including the car hire pick-up, which has always been a painful event in the past. We checked into our hotel and spent a while watching an electrical storm roll over the horizon:

storm rolling up to the mountains

lightning!!

After a day of travel we were pretty exhausted, but happy to have our holiday underway and looking forward to all that was to come…keep reading to find out what we did on day 2 (it was a bit more exciting than day 1, I promise)!
