[Donna Ida Denim Clinic]

Yves Saint Laurent quote at Donna Ida

Remember this 5km run I did back in September? Well, I finished it (and in under 30 minutes too, which was a personal best) and raised some money for the very worthy charity Jeans for Genes, along with a bunch of other women in the race’s most glamorous team.

after the 5km run in Hyde Park

Team Donna Ida raised over £50,000 for the children’s charity, and as Donna Ida herself raised the most money she won the grand prize, a goody bag filled with jeans, shoes, sunglasses, gin and gift vouchers for all sorts of lovely things, and generously decided to split her goody bag up and pick winners at random for each item. I was delighted when Claire Etchell, PR & Marketing Manager for Donna Ida, emailed me letting me know that I won a pair of Paige Denim jeans in Donna’s lucky dip! I have been in need of some new jeans for a while so I couldn’t wait to get down to the Donna Ida Denim Clinic and try on some jeans with the help of the lovely ladies at the boutique.

rows and rows of jeans!

When I arrived at the Belgravia store, I got to meet the lovely Donna Ida herself, as well as Claire who I’d been emailing with for weeks. After a quick chat with these fab ladies, it was time to try on some jeans. Denim expert Jo took one look at me and immediately put me in a pair of mid-rise skinnies that looked fantastic! I was basically sold on them straight away but wanted to try on a few more pairs, so I pulled on the green cords pictured above, which also looked great. I then tried on a pair of sexy leopard print jeans which I fell in love with, but decided I should be practical and get something appropriate for work, going out, or a casual weekend look…

I loved these ones...

In the end I decided on the first pair I’d tried on: the Paige Premium Verdugo Skinny Jean in Florence. I have to say, this was hands-down the most pleasant jeans-shopping experience I’ve ever had. Not only was the staff super friendly and helpful, but they know their stuff and the store carries so many different brands and styles of jeans that it would be impossible not to find something you love. Each boutique offers a denim clinic service, where you get one-on-one time with someone in store who can help you find a pair of jeans that’s right for you – they also have an online clinic if you can’t get into a store (and they ship internationally!). Although I rarely have the cash to spend on jeans fancier than Topshop, I would definitely return here for my next denim purchase, even if it does take a few months of saving…the difference is just that noticeable!

my new Paige jeans...with a note from Paige!

I picked up my new, freshly hemmed jeans on Thursday night and wore them yesterday to work, because I just couldn’t wait. They are so comfortable; they are soft, have loads of stretch and look and feel fantastic! I love the colour, the fit, the stretch…in case you can’t tell from all of this gushing, I am extremely happy with my new jeans!

Thanks Donna, Claire and the team at the Donna Ida boutique for my fantastic prize!

Here’s how I styled them:
