[goals for 2012]

Happy New Year! Can you believe it’s 2012? I certainly can’t – the past year has just flown by and, although it was an incredibly full and exciting year I’m determined to do my part to make this one even better. I really hate the term ‘New Year’s Resolution’. If I make a resolution, I’m pretty likely to fail. Am I the only one who has a weird mental block when it comes to ‘resolutions’?  However, if I set myself goals, I’m much more determined to reach them, which is why I have made a list of goals that I’m hoping to tick off one by one before the end of 2012. To increase my chances by 10% of accomplishing these goals (check out what Wikipedia has to say here - under ‘Success Rate’), I’m going to share a few of my goals with you. This way, if I am not achieving them you can send me emails mid-year telling me to get my butt in gear!

So here goes:

- Try as many recipes & DIY ideas as possible from my ‘DIY to-do list‘ and ‘Fabulous Food‘ boards on Pinterest (I still have invitations left so email me if you’d like one).

- Finish the first draft of my book.

- Run a half-marathon in under two hours (I know, I know, I swore I’d never run one again!!)

- Visit 5 new countries (including Egypt and Jordan)

- Blog four times per week

- Continue reading one book a month (this is one of the goals I achieved in 2011)

So there you have it! My 2012 goals…what do you hope to achieve this year?

One of my goals is also to run a half marathon (Green Belt from Athelstone along the linear path to the Adelaide Oval) during the second half of April!

These are great goals (and thanks for introducing me to the chalkboard cheeseboard, I now need one in my life!).

Good luck with them all and I hope you have an amazing 2012 Lauren! :)

I love the one book a month goal. That’s one I would love to do as well. I’ve been so busy lately it’s more like two months — not so good.

I’ll definitely help you stay on track with the novel goal! We can do this together! How far along are you with it?

    xx.

Hello! I think these sound totally achievable. I love the one in particular about visiting five new countries! Happy new year! Xx
