The Other Sister Blog Tour

With just two days before paperback publication of The Other Sister, it’s safe to say my stomach is crammed with butterflies, and I have a constant mixture of excitement and dread swirling through my mind.

The Other Sister Paperback

Dread? I hear you ask. Yes, dread. Of course I’m over-the-moon excited, because my second novel *stops to pinch myself* is coming out, but it’s also an incredibly scary time, to be perfectly honest. Because at first, it was just me working away at this thing, this idea that I’d come up with out of thin air, trying to shape it into a story and build it into characters and plot and dialogue and description.

Then my agent was in on it, too; the two of us polishing and cutting and polishing again (and then, I’ll be honest, cutting it a few more times). Then my editor. And then a whole team at Orion.

And now it’s on the cusp of being available to anyone, anywhere, who fancies reading it. Which of course is a fantastic thing, and I’m beyond grateful to be on this journey and to have my words bound on lovely crisp pages between a beautifully creepy cover.

But it also feels incredibly vulnerable. What can I say? Us authors are funny creatures. When we’re starting out, all we want is the chance for our work to be read. Then it actually happens and we panic.

But anyway. That’s not the point.

The point is that The Other Sister is almost out there! The eBook has been available for a while, and to my delight has received lovely reviews so far. So that does take away some of the nerves, which is nice. But the paperback release feels bigger and scarier and more exciting. There’s more pressure (imagined, I am fairly sure), and more buzz.

And part of that buzz, I’m pleased to say, is a lovely blog tour that my publicist put together for The Other Sister!

What is a Blog Tour?

The Other Sister Blog Tour Schedule

I’ve been a blogger for almost nine years, but until I became an author, I’d never heard of a blog tour. Book bloggers, on the other hand, will be incredibly familiar with the concept of blog tours, as they happen all the time in the book blogging world! It’s a way of promoting a book by getting bloggers to spread the word, and it’s a brilliant idea.

Rather than my book physically going on tour, it ‘tours’ through the digital world, showing up on one or more blogs each day for a set amount of time (in this case, a week), with each blogger reviewing The Other Sister and sharing their thoughts with their audience.

The wonderful bloggers that are taking part in The Other Sister blog tour are listed below in order of appearance, and as each review is posted I’ll update this list so you can read each one individually:

Thanks so much to all of the bloggers who are taking part in this blog tour – I’m so excited that you’re taking the time to read and review The Other Sister, and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
